Cliff Wood (Late) 3 Dan
Cliff started judo around about 1959 at the YMCA in South Melbourne with instructor Jack Cox. Cliff was graded yellow belt through to brown belt at the Beaurepaire Centre, Melbourne University. In 1965 the State Championships were held at the Caulfield Judo club and he won his division. Consequently Cliff was graded to 1st Dan.
Cliff moved to Germany in 1966 and was graded to 2nd Dan, training at high profile clubs such in Leverkusen and Cologne. Subsequently, on returning to Australia in 1975, Cliff's 2nd Dan was recognised by Australia. In 1998 Cliff was graded by Frank Dando 7 Dan to 3rd Dan.
Cliff won a gold medal at the Australian Masters' Games in Melbourne and was placed 4th overall.
In 1998 Cliff qualified as a Sports masseur and was actively involved. Cliff was also qualified as level 2 sports trainer/sports medicine first aider.
